The core client base is highly entrepreneurial and evolving, from start-ups and juniors to large integrated exploration and production companies. To date every articling student we have ever hired has been retained at the firm as an associate at the completion of their articles.

All articling students at Thackray Burgess can expect exposure to legal work in the areas of civil litigation, administrative and/or regulatory law, wills and estates, corporate governance and general corporate commercial matters. But it is very important for all prospective candidates to understand the primary focus of all Thackray Burgess articling students will be learning and developing a solicitor's practice in the area of energy law. Be prepared to work one on one with the clients in their offices, direct research and due diligence, draft contracts and assist in closings. Explore our practice areas in more detail.
